Our Story

Jesse
Jesse Zhan graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2018, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Applied Mathematics and Statistics with honors recognition. Jesse then spent a year as a research fellow at the National Institute of Health before matriculating into the MD/PhD program at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Jesse has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in top academic journals.

Andrew
Andrew Zhan graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. This is irrelevant information to the protein powder company, but he did discover the concept of tracking macros during his time in college. Part of this journey involved drinking a lot of whey protein powder (we're talking 3-4 scoops a day). He learned the hard way how bad whey protein was for him (acne breakouts, indigestion, stomach pain, etc.)

Nouru
With their combined experiences (which include being lactose intolerant), Jesse and Andrew set out on a journey to develop the best tasting vegan protein powder that they could enjoy without the negative side effects of whey.
Nouru is the culmination of the brothers' love for fitness and some of their favorite childhood flavors.
